The Officer Down Memorial Page: End of Watch Report March 2017

In March 2017, nine law enforcement officers died in the line of duty in the United States.  Of those nine, four died as a result of felonious gunfire, bringing the yearly total up to 10, a 33% decrease from this time last year.

Of the remaining five line of duty deaths, two were from 9/11-related diseases, two were the result of a vehicle pursuit, and one was due to an automobile accident.

The yearly total for 2017 currently stands at 32 line of duty deaths, which is the same as the first quarter in 2016.

The Officer Down Memorial Page extends our deepest sympathy and condolences to the families, friends, and agencies who lost a loved one in the line of duty in March 2017.
