End of Watch Report July 2019

Line of Duty Death report for July 2019 showing 8 LODDs in July and 69 total LODDs YTD, a 36% decrease from this time last year

In July 2019, eight officers died in the line of duty in the United States, bringing the year-to-date total to 69 officers.  This is a 36% decrease from the same time last year.

Of the eight officers who gave their lives in July, three died as a result of gunfire, three died in auto-related incidents (one struck by vehicle, one vehicular assault, and one auto crash), one officer died from a heart attack, and one died as the result of a duty-related illness.
