Line of Duty Death report for January 2020 showing 12 line of duty deaths nationally, an 8% decrease from last January.

January 2020 started the year with a total of twelve line of duty deaths across the country.  Of those twelve deaths, three were the result of gunfire, seven were auto-related (two vehicular assault, two struck by vehicle, one vehicle pursuit, one auto crash, and one motorcycle crash), one was the result of a heart attack, and one was due to a 9/11-related illness.  Of the twelve officers who died in January 2020, four were women.
