In November 2020, eighteen law enforcement officers died in the line of duty nationally. Of those eighteen, fourteen died as a result of COVID-19. Three died from gunfire, and one died due to drowning. The year-to-date total for line of duty deaths stands at 271 at the end of November, an 83% increase from the same time last year.
