5th Annual Officer Down Memorial Ride

The Officer Down Memorial Ride (ODMR) is an annual motorcycle event held in Haymarket, VA each year to pay tribute to fallen law enforcement heroes and to raise awareness and provide support to the Officer Down Memorial Page.

This year's ride takes place in less than two weeks on Saturday, April 16th, 2016.

The ODMR brings together hundreds of law enforcement motorcycle enthusiasts and supporters from around the country to pay tribute to America's fallen heroes.   The ride follows a scenic 60-mile circuit through the foothills of Virginia's Blue Ridge Mountains and culminates in a day of music, food, police motor demonstrations, and various vendor offerings.

Registration for the ODMR is still open for a few more day, so if you'd like to participate, sign up before April 9th!  All pre-registrants receive a free 5th Anniversary ODMR t-shirt.  If you can't make it to Virginia, but would still like to participate and get your free t-shirt mailed to you, register as a Spirit Rider!  On-site registration will also be available beginning at 9AM on the day of the ride.

This year marks the 5th anniversary of the ride, which has raised more than $80,000 to benefit ODMP since it's inception. To mark the ODMR's 5th Anniversary, the fundraising goal for this year's event is $5000.  All proceeds go to the Officer Down Memorial Page to support our mission of honoring the more than 22,000 law enforcement officers who have died in the line of duty in U.S. history.  If you can't make it to the ride but would still like to support this great event, you can donate here!

Thank you for your support and generosity and we hope to see you at the 5th Annual Officer Down Memorial Ride later this month!

Officer Down Memorial Page End of Watch Report: March 2016

March 2016 was by far the deadliest month of this year, with more total line of duty deaths than the previous two months combined.

In all, sixteen officers lost their lives in the line of duty in March 2016.  Of those deaths, five were due to gunfire (one accidental and four felonious), ten were vehicle related (six automobile accidents, one motorcycle accident, two struck by vehicles, and one case of vehicular assault), and the remaining line of duty death was the result of a heart attack.

The Officer Down Memorial Page extends our deepest condolences to the agencies, families, and friends who lost loved ones in March 2016.
