2016 Line of Duty Deaths Infograph from ODMP

The Officer Down Memorial Page is dedicated first and foremost to honoring fallen law enforcement officers, but it is also our mission to raise awareness of line of duty deaths in an effort to prevent further LODDs and serious injuries.  To that end, we work to analyze trends and causes of line of duty deaths and make that information available to the public.

The final line of duty death statistics for 2016 were released last month by the FBI.  ODMP has created an infograph to illustrate vital information about last year's line of duty deaths:  the causes, the locations, and pertinent officer information.

This powerful visual depiction of the 144 LODDs from 2016 provides a unique perspective from which to understand how and why officer deaths occur in the United States.

The infograph is available for download as a .jpg from the ODMP site HERE

It can be printed up to 11x17" (we recommend printing it from either Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator in order to maintain quality).

Alternatively, a PDF can be downloaded HERE.

While ODMP will continue to honor each of the officers who die in the line of duty in the U.S., it is our sincere hope that each officer we add to our page will be the last.  Until that day, we will continue to raise awareness of the dangers that officers face on a daily basis and to spread that information as widely as possible so that future deaths may be prevented.
