The Officer Down Memorial Page: End of Watch Report January 2017


In January 2017, thirteen law enforcement officers from ten different states and one Tribal Police agency gave their lives in the line of duty.  Of those, twelve were male and one was female.

The causes of death were varied: 5 officers died as a result of felonious gunfire, 5 died in motor vehicle accidents (1 motorcycle and 4 automobile), 2 died as the result of illnesses, and 1 died as a result of vehicular assault.

The Officer Down Memorial Page sends our sincere condolences to the families, friends, and agencies that lost a loved one in January 2017.
